Allende Arts Festival 2010 site launches

Aug 20, 2010

The Allende Arts Festival in Toronto celebrates Latin American Arts in Canada.

Founded in 2003 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the military coup in Chile on Sept. 11, 1973, the festival was built on the premises that artists can play an important role on all levels of social change through a recuperation and re interpretation of stories and histories.

Since its inception, it has become a place where artists showcase politically and socially engaged work and a place for artists of various disciplines and diverse backgrounds to establish networks and develop their artistic practices.

On this project, SeeThrough Web was engaged to convert the existing website from static html pages to a system that would allow the organization staff to update and maintain many of the parts of the website themselves.

Developed in the TYPO3 content management system, the organization has the ability to log in through a web-based interface and update any portion of the website, be it a pictures, text, adding new pages, or whatever is required.

Visit the festival website at: allendefestival.com.

This year the festival will be held from September 10th - 14th, with the opening reception being held on Friday Sept 10th at the George Brown College School of Design, at 230 Richmond St. E. in Toronto
